Who am I? Why read this site?

I lost over 70 pounds and have kept it off for over 20 years.

Yep – it’s true.

I was overweight since the day I was born (birth weight = 10 pounds!)

and as I was growing up I struggled with overeating and food issues.

It was awful to be called names and made fun of.

Someone wrote in my yearbook “I thought we were having an earthquake but it was just you walking by.”

That hurt…

I could not find clothes that fit me right and I felt awful.

Everyone that knew me thought I would be fat for life.


I got fed up with being treated badly. I wanted to be healthy. I wanted to wear cute clothes.

I did not want to live at a much heavier weight than what is healthy for me for the rest of my life.

So…..I made the changes I needed to make to improve my health and my fitness.

It took effort, discipline and work because I had to teach myself just what healthy living was all about.

I never had any healthy role models so I had to start from scratch.

But you know what?

The effort to lose weight and get healthy and slim was SO worth it.

Being healthy and able to fit comfortable into my favorite clothes feels so good – inside and out!
